ABOUT the tournament
Nexus Cup Ja. is a online League of Legends Tournament Series for League of Legends players residing in Jamaica. The tournament series will be comprised of 8 teams facing every other team twice over the course of the series. All 5 v 5 matches are played in a Best of 1 format, with each team playing once per day. Points will be awarded for wins and teams will be placed in a league table to track progress and statistics.
There will also be a 1 v 1 tournament where each team will pick a player to compete. Points from the 1 v 1 tournament will go towards a teams championship point earnings.
REPORTING POINTS:
Players will be provided with a tournament code to be used in customer matches and the out come of the game will be automatically captured. Players are required to also join the our discord server https://discord.gg/PpfP9Nb to receive tournament codes and other pertinent information.
Tiebreakers:
- If two teams have the same record, ties will be broken by Head to Head record
- If Head to Head records are identical, winning percentage based on total games played will be used
- If still tied, a tiebreaker match will be played
Playoff Format:
Playoffs will be comprised of six teams in a seeded, single elimination tournament. All matches are Best of 5 format which also features a third/fourth place match.
Championship points
Teams will be awarded Championship Points to help them qualify for the Nexus Cup Caribbean Championship tournament where the top 2 teams will represent Jamaica in an online tournament organized between other Caribbean Islands. Championship Point system ensures that teams always play their best and allows for better alignment with other international leagues.
